The Zantitium window measures 2.25 inches long and 1.4 inches wide — up to twice the glass area of standard micro red dots. A larger lens means more forgiveness when your eyes are not perfectly centered, cutting acquisition time and keeping you on target under stress.
A single CR2032 powers the RD3-015 for up to 40,000 hours on the low setting — that is over 4.5 years of continuous runtime. Even at the brightest setting you get up to 3,000 hours. For a carry optic, this means setting it and forgetting it for the life of the battery.
The battery slides in and out from the top of the housing while the optic stays fully mounted and zeroed on the slide. No torque re-checks, no re-zeroing sessions — just pull, swap, and go. The same access point handles mounting screws and battery separately, so nothing interferes.
After 5 minutes of stillness the illumination automatically sleeps to conserve battery. The instant the firearm is lifted, racked, or moved the sight springs back to the exact brightness level you last set — no buttons to press, no delay, no excuses for a dark dot when you need it most.
The RD3-015 uses the Doctor / Burris FastFire / Vortex Venom two-screw footprint and mounts via a rear-sight-replacement plate that rides on top of the slide. It is compatible with HK USP, Walther P99, S&W M&P Shield, and dozens of other platforms — plus any pistol with a Doctor-spec optics-ready cut.

The Zantitium was engineered to break the micro-dot compromise. Most micro red dots squeeze a small window into a tiny housing to keep weight down — the RD3-015 keeps the same low 4-ounce weight while giving you up to twice the glass. The result is a sight that feels as generous as a full-size optic but mounts on compact pistols without overhang or balance issues.

The 40,000-hour figure on low comes from the inherent efficiency of the CR2032 at minimal LED current, combined with the Motion Awake system that cuts power during storage, carry, and holster time. At moderate brightness settings you can realistically expect 10,000–20,000 hours, and even at full brightness the 3,000-hour rating vastly outpaces many competitors charging twice as much.

The RD3-015 ships with a Picatinny rail adapter plate for universal mounting. For pistol slide mounting, you will need a firearm-specific rear-sight-replacement plate (sold separately on opticsfactory.com). The sight sits slightly higher on the slide than an RMR-footprint optic due to the plate design — verify co-witness height with your iron sights before ordering.

No. The RD3-015 is longer than standard MOS optic cuts and uses the Doctor footprint, not RMR. For Glock MOS, consider the RD3-012 (Doctor) or RD3-022 PRO (RMR). The Zantitium mounts via a rear-sight-replacement plate on non-MOS Glock slides.
The Doctor footprint is a two-screw pattern used by Doctor Optic, Burris FastFire, and Vortex Venom red dots. It differs from the RMR footprint (used by Trijicon and Holosun 407C/507C) in screw spacing and housing profile. Many pistols with optics-ready slides are cut for one or the other — check your slide before ordering.
Not fully — it enters a sleep/low-power mode via Motion Awake after 5 minutes of inactivity, but it does not shut off entirely. Pressing the button or moving the firearm instantly restores the illumination. To power off completely, hold the button for 3 seconds.
The CR2032 battery is accessed from the top of the housing without removing any mounting screws. Slide out the battery tray from the top, swap the cell, and re-seat the tray. The optic remains torqued to the slide throughout, so your zero is completely unaffected.
