At its lowest brightness setting the RD3-013 runs for up to 30,000 hours on a single CR1632 battery — over 3 years of continuous runtime. Even on the brightest daylight setting you get up to 2,000 hours, making unplanned battery swaps during carry essentially a non-issue.
After 5 minutes of inactivity the LED goes dark automatically. Pick up the pistol, tilt it toward a target, or draw from the holster and the dot is back — at your last brightness level — before you reach full extension. No fumbling for buttons in a dynamic situation.
The lowest brightness setting produces an infrared-range LED output invisible to the naked eye, making it fully compatible with standard night vision devices. Combined with the 1 MOA/click audible adjustments, zeroing under NV conditions is straightforward and precise.
A 4 MOA dot balances precision with speed — small enough for accurate shot placement at pistol ranges while still large enough to snap to under stress or in low light. The Doctor-footprint housing keeps the dot centered at zero co-witness height on most compatible pistol platforms.

The RD3-013 Bertrillium was designed specifically for shooters who depend on their optic daily and cannot afford to babysit battery levels. With 30,000 hours of runtime at the lowest setting and 2,000 hours at maximum brightness, the Bertrillium is essentially a set-and-forget carry optic. Combined with Motion Awake auto-sleep, the practical battery life of this optic is exceptional — most users replace the CR1632 annually at most.

The CR1632 battery is accessed from the top of the housing, not the bottom or side. This means the optic never needs to come off the slide for a battery change. Your windage and elevation zero remain untouched, your mount torque stays intact, and there's no re-zeroing session required. For a carry optic that gets used daily, this convenience compounds significantly over the life of the product.

The RD3-013 offers multiple brightness levels plus a dedicated NV-compatible mode at the low end of the range. The lowest setting produces an LED output that is invisible to the unaided eye — ideal for use alongside Gen 1, Gen 2, or Gen 3 night vision devices. At the high end, the dot is crisp and visible in direct sunlight. Audible 1 MOA/click adjustments make precise zeroing easy in any lighting condition.

The Doctor/Vortex Venom/Burris FastFire footprint is one of the most widely supported mini red dot standards in the industry, covering Glock MOS models, Sig Sauer P320, P365XL and P365X, Canik TP9, Smith & Wesson M&P series, Walther PPQ, and dozens of other modern handguns with optics-ready slides or compatible adapter plates. ADE offers a comprehensive lineup of pistol-specific adapter plates for non-optics-ready slides.

Yes. Glock MOS (Modular Optic System) slides include a mounting plate system that supports the Doctor/Vortex Venom footprint. The RD3-013 installs directly onto a Glock MOS pistol using the factory MOS adapter plate for Doctor/Vortex Venom-style optics. Compatible Glock MOS models include 17, 19, 34, 35, 40, and 41.
The motion sensor monitors movement and powers down the LED after 5 continuous minutes of inactivity. During storage, holster carry, and transport, the dot is off and drawing essentially zero power. The moment the pistol moves — whether drawn, picked up, or tilted — the dot reactivates instantly. This behavior means the battery only drains during active use, extending practical battery life dramatically compared to sights left running continuously.
The RD3-013 uses the Doctor/Vortex Venom footprint, which is compatible with Springfield XD OSP but not the Hellcat OSP (which uses a different, Hellcat-specific footprint). For non-optics-ready XD models, ADE offers a compatible adapter plate. The Hellcat OSP requires a different ADE optic.
Yes. The lowest brightness setting is calibrated to produce infrared-range output that is invisible to the naked eye but clearly visible through standard Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3 night vision devices. To access NV mode, simply step down the brightness below its lowest visible setting using the DOWN button.
